Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies PulsePanels uses on its marketing website (pulsepanels.com) and in its web app (app.pulsepanels.com), why we use them, and how you can control them. In short: the website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or trackers, and the app uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in securely.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember your choices, and to provide information to site operators. This policy also covers technologies that behave like cookies, including browser local storage, session storage and similar client-side storage mechanisms.

First-party cookies Set by the PulsePanels site you are using. All the cookies described in this policy are first-party.

Third-party cookies Set by a domain other than the site you are visiting, for example an analytics or advertising provider. We do not use third-party cookies.

Local storage A browser mechanism that stores small values on your device until they are cleared. Unlike cookies, local storage is not sent to our servers with each request.

2. What we use, in short

Marketing website (pulsepanels.com)

The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or third-party trackers. If you choose a language (English or French), the site remembers that choice in your browser's local storage so the next page opens in the same language.

Web app (app.pulsepanels.com)

The app uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies to sign you in, keep your session secure, and protect sign-in with Google, Microsoft and two-factor authentication. These cookies are httpOnly (page scripts cannot read them), use SameSite=Lax, and are sent only over secure (HTTPS) connections. They do not require consent because the app cannot work without them.

The app also uses your browser's local storage for interface preferences and state, such as list page sizes, guided-tour progress and a cached copy of your account details for display. These values stay on your device and are not used for tracking.

3. Cookies and storage we use

The table below lists every cookie and named storage key we set. All are first-party.

4. Managing your preferences

You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Browser controls vary; see your browser's help pages for details.

  • To reset your language choice on the website, clear the site data for pulsepanels.com in your browser.
  • Signing out of the app removes the sign-in cookies.
  • If you block the app's strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in.

5. Third-party cookies

We do not use third-party cookies, analytics or advertising trackers on the website or in the app.

If you choose to sign in with Google or Microsoft, you are sent to their sign-in pages, where their own cookies and policies apply. Content that customers choose to show on their screens, such as embedded web pages, is outside the scope of this policy.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal to say you do not want to be tracked. Because we use no tracking or non-essential cookies, there is nothing for these signals to switch off.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal or operational reasons. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. If we ever add non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

8. How to contact us

Questions about this Cookie Policy or our use of cookies can be sent to our privacy contact below. For how we handle personal data more generally, see the Privacy Notice.
