Summary
1. What the feature does
The emergency-alert feature (the Emergency Center in the PulsePanels dashboard) lets an authorised user override normal content and display an urgent full-screen message across selected screens — for example a weather warning, a building notice, or an instruction to staff and visitors.
It is a communication aid intended to supplement — not replace — your primary emergency and life-safety systems.
2. It is not a life-safety system
PulsePanels is not designed, certified, tested or approved as a fire-detection, fire-alarm, life-safety, mass-notification or emergency-warning system. It is not a substitute for:
- Certified fire-detection and fire-alarm systems.
- Audible/visual evacuation alarms and sounders.
- Emergency lighting and exit signage.
- Public-address and voice-alarm systems.
- Certified mass-notification or emergency-warning systems.
- Any emergency system required by law, regulation, code or your insurer.
Do not use PulsePanels as your sole or primary means of warning people of danger.
3. Alert delivery is not guaranteed
Delivery and display of an emergency alert depends on many factors, several of which are outside PulsePanels' control. An alert may be delayed, incomplete, or not shown at all if any of the following are affected:
- Power — screens, players and network equipment must be powered on.
- Connectivity — players generally need working network connectivity to receive a new alert promptly.
- Displays — the physical screen must be functioning, switched on and set to the correct input.
- Player availability — the player device and app must be running and healthy.
- Cloud availability — the platform must be reachable to push a new alert (see the Service Level Agreement).
- Configuration — the alert, its targeting and the devices must be correctly configured.
4. Your responsibilities
- You remain solely responsible for providing and maintaining all legally required emergency, fire and life-safety systems for your premises.
- You are responsible for your emergency plans, procedures, drills and staff training, independent of PulsePanels.
- You must comply with all applicable safety laws, regulations and codes.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the alert content you configure and send.
5. Test your configuration regularly
You must regularly test your emergency-alert configuration and the devices it targets to confirm they behave as you expect. Regular testing should verify that alerts reach the intended screens, display correctly, and clear as expected, and that responsible staff know how to trigger and cancel them.
6. No warranty for emergency use
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the emergency-alert feature is provided "as is" and without any warranty that alerts will be delivered, timely, or displayed. To the extent permitted by law, PulsePanels disclaims liability for any loss or harm arising from reliance on the feature as an emergency or life-safety system. This is subject to the limitations in the Terms of Service and to any rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
