1. Purpose and scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes prohibited uses of the PulsePanels digital signage management platform, web applications, APIs, player software and related services (collectively, the "Services"). It applies to everyone who accesses or uses the Services, including your users, workspaces and connected players.

This AUP is incorporated into, and forms part of, the Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service. Where a separately signed agreement applies, that agreement's use restrictions also apply.

2. Prohibited uses

You must not use the Services to engage in, promote or facilitate any of the following:

  • Unlawful activity, or any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Infringement of intellectual property rights, including displaying copyrighted images, video, music or fonts without the necessary rights or licences.
  • Creating, transmitting or hosting malware, viruses, ransomware, or any code intended to damage, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to systems or data.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, incitement to violence, or content that demeans or targets individuals or protected groups.
  • Deceptive, fraudulent or misleading content, including impersonation, phishing, scams or false advertising.
  • Displaying adult, sexually explicit, or otherwise illegal content on public or shared screens, or content unsuitable for the audience and location of the screen.
  • Collecting or displaying personal data in violation of privacy laws or without a lawful basis.
  • Any use that would bring PulsePanels or its customers into disrepute or that is otherwise objectionable in the reasonable judgement of PulsePanels.

3. Security violations

You must not attempt to breach or circumvent the security of the Services or of any network, system or account. Prohibited security violations include:

  • Accessing, or attempting to access, any account, system, data or network without authorisation.
  • Scanning, probing or testing the vulnerability of the Services or related infrastructure without our prior written consent.
  • Circumventing, disabling or interfering with authentication, rate limits, usage quotas or other access controls.
  • Intercepting, monitoring or altering data or traffic not intended for you.
  • Disrupting or degrading the Services, including through denial-of-service or resource-exhaustion techniques.

4. Network and resource abuse

You must use the Services in a way that does not place an unreasonable or disproportionate burden on our infrastructure or interfere with other customers' use of the Services.

  • Do not send automated, high-volume or abusive requests to our APIs or endpoints outside documented limits.
  • Do not use the Services to store or distribute content unrelated to your legitimate signage use.
  • Do not attempt to exceed, evade or manipulate plan limits, quotas or billing metrics.
  • Do not use the Services as an open relay, proxy, or to transmit unsolicited bulk messages.

5. Content standards

You are responsible for all content you upload, schedule and publish through the Services, and for holding all rights and licences needed to display it. Content must comply with this AUP and with applicable law.

Detailed rules on ownership, licensing, permitted content and takedown handling are set out in the Content & Copyright Policy. Where content is used for emergency or alert messaging, the limitations described in the Emergency Alerts Disclaimer apply.

  • Ensure content is appropriate for the audience, context and physical location of each screen.
  • Do not display content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive or otherwise prohibited under this AUP.
  • Do not rely on the Services as a certified life-safety or emergency-notification system; see the Emergency Alerts Disclaimer.

6. Third-party integrations, external URLs and embedded content

The Services may allow you to embed external URLs, third-party applications, live feeds, QR-linked destinations and other embedded content. You are responsible for the destinations you link to and the content you embed.

  • Ensure external URLs, QR codes and embedded content lead to safe, lawful destinations that comply with this AUP.
  • Do not use QR codes or links to direct viewers to malicious, deceptive or infringing destinations.
  • Your use of third-party services and content is subject to their terms; PulsePanels is not responsible for third-party services or the content they deliver.

7. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations of this AUP. Where content or activity is clearly abusive, unlawful or in breach of this AUP, we may remove or disable the affected content, suspend or terminate affected accounts or players, and take other action consistent with the Terms of Service.

Where practicable and lawful, we will aim to give notice and an opportunity to remedy a violation, but we may act without prior notice where there is a risk of harm, legal exposure, or disruption to the Services or other customers. Suspension and termination rights are described further in the Terms of Service.

8. Reporting abuse

If you believe content or activity on the Services violates this AUP, please report it to us so we can investigate. Send reports to legal@pulsepanels.com or support@pulsepanels.com. We do not run a separate abuse mailbox; reports sent to either address reach the team that investigates them.

Please include enough detail to identify the content or activity in question, such as the screen, workspace or URL involved, and a description of the issue.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes to the Services or for legal or operational reasons. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
